Why it is worth having the bot in your Telegram

The moment when checking a price is most worthwhile is the moment when it is least convenient. The bot exists for exactly that moment.

The moment it was built for

You are standing in the aisle, product in hand, with a trolley blocked behind you. Opening a browser, typing a long name and waiting for a page to load is precisely what does not happen in that situation. So you buy it, and hope the price was reasonable.

In Telegram the conversation is already open. Send whatever identifies the product and the prices come back — in an app that is already open anyway, with no login screen in the middle.

Three ways to ask

Barcode — the precise way

Scan it with the camera or type the digits under the stripes. A barcode identifies exactly one product — same manufacturer, same pack size — so the comparison is of the very same product rather than of similar things.

Photo — the fast way

Photograph the package and send it. The bot tries to identify the product from the image and returns prices. Useful when the barcode is creased, hidden or simply out of reach — though in poor light a barcode is still more reliable.

Name — the natural way

Write "Tnuva 3% milk", or something less exact, and the bot searches for matches. This suits planning a shop from home, when the product is not in your hand at all.

Location — the difference between a correct answer and a useful one

The cheapest price in the country is no help if the branch is an hour away. Share a location and the answer favours branches genuinely near you, with the distance next to the price.

Without a location the bot still answers — just at nationwide level, without telling you where it is worth shopping. You can update or remove the location at any time.

What the bot does not do

The bot is a shortcut, not a replacement. It answers one question at a time: what does this product cost, and where.

For a full comparison across every branch, a price-history chart and shopping lists, the website and the app give you a wider picture. It is worth knowing both and using each where it is strong.

Frequently asked questions

How do I start?
Open the bot in Telegram, press start, and send a barcode, a name or a photo. No sign-up and no extra install.
Does the bot recognise every product?
It recognises products that exist in the chains' price files. A product no large chain reports will not be found — and a barcode gives a more precise answer than free text.
Why is the price I got different from the price at the till?
The price is the last one the chain officially published for that branch. A promotion that started or ended after publication, and club-member pricing, can both create a gap — which is why it is worth verifying at the till.
Does it cost anything?
No. Checking a price in the bot is free.
