How to compare supermarket prices in Israel: apps and websites

October 12, 2026 · 3 min read · Written by the QuickCheck team

Looking for an app to compare supermarket prices in Israel? You can check what the same product costs across chains and branches, compare by your location and price a whole shopping basket — free, from data the chains publish themselves.

The services that exist today

Supermarket price-comparison services in Israel include Pricez (pricez.co.il), CHP (chp.co.il) and QuickCheck (comuni.co.il). Each has its own interface and features, so choose by how you shop: checking one product, scanning a barcode at the shelf, comparing nearby branches or pricing a whole basket.

Israel’s Consumer Protection and Fair Trade Authority publishes a list of price-comparison apps on gov.il. It is worth checking before you choose.

Where the prices come from

Israel’s Food Sector Competition Law requires the large retail chains to publish every branch’s prices and promotions in open files and to update them through the day. Comparison services collect those files and show them in one place.

So the difference between services is not who knows a secret price, but how many chains and branches each one takes in, how quickly it updates and how it presents the result.

How to choose a service

Check four things: which platforms it runs on (web, iPhone, Android); whether it compares at branch level or only per chain; whether you can scan a barcode in the store; and whether it shows the price per unit — a bigger pack is not always cheaper.

Most importantly, the cheapest price depends on location, on the product being stocked at that branch and sometimes on club membership. A good service shows when a price was last updated and at which branch exactly.

What QuickCheck offers

QuickCheck shows supermarket and pharmacy prices at branch level, from the files the chains publish. As of October 2026 it tracks 48 chains and 2,430 branches. You can search for a product, compare by distance, check the price per unit and the price history, and build a shopping list — on the website, in five languages, without signing up.

The iPhone app is in the App Store, with barcode scanning. The Android version has not been published yet.

A practical example

Say you need a particular product. Type its name or scan the barcode, set your location, and you get the prices at nearby branches from cheapest to most expensive, each with the date it was last updated. Checking several products? Add them to a basket and see which branch comes out cheapest for all of them.

Frequently asked questions

Do these services cost money? Comparing prices is free in every service mentioned here.

Why can the price in the app differ from the checkout? The price comes from the file the chain published. A promotion with conditions, a club price or an update not yet taken in can make a difference — which is why it matters to see when a price was updated.

Are pharmacies included? Yes — QuickCheck also covers pharmacy chains that publish prices.
